Revolutionary Dames!

Pardon the title.? Today, we read a book of that title.? It tells about the role of women during the American Revolution.? It was quite interesting, and we all learned something (The teen, too!)

We are cooking our Revolutionary/Colonial style meal today.? I did change things up a bit – instead of baking a loaf of bread, I decided to make dinner rolls instead.? It seemed to “go” with our Colonial Pot Roast.
This is the first time I’ve ever made a pot roast of any sort, so I was nervous.

Here’s the during stage:

colonial-day-025 I cut the meat into beef stew sizes.

And next came the roll dough making!

Adding Sugar

This is my favorite picture.? If you look closely, you can see the sugar granules falling into the pan!? Way cool photography, Big Brother!
