Crochet Mojo?

I’ve been on a bit of a streak, as of late… I’ve made quite a few pairs of socks. I whipped up little crochet bags for my girls to carry their projects in. I’ve been coveting many patterns in my Ravelry Queue, too. Since the weather here is so fickle, I’m not sure whether to […]

Oh My Goodness!!!

Ok, so you know that crazy post I did about not buying anymore yarn. Yeah, that was a good one, wasn’t it? Anyway, today, I received my email confirmation that my Knit Picks order is on its’ way! Yahoo! Then I shared that news with my yarn-loving crochet son. He then, innocently asked, how much […]

NEAT-Oh!

I found this while loitering around the ‘net — Do you have trouble with stitch markers? My problem with them has mainly been with them snagging my yarn (plus, I don’t like the idea of having to move them each round. Well, if you’re like me, you’re gonna love this idea!!!

Keepin’ it fresh!

So, I started my third pair of socks Thursday! For two reasons: 1) New Yarn — I got some Patons Kroy Sox yarn through a friend, who picked them up for me on sale for $2.49 at Michaels! 2) I wanted to make DH a pair. 3) I was getting a bit frustrated with the sock […]

Inner turmoil

I can’t believe it — I’ve been a crocheter for over 20 years, and now, for some reason, I can’t kick the notion that knitting may make me, *gasp*, happier. I don’t knit that well. I’ve only ever made dishcloths and scarves, so I have a large learning curve to overcome. I think — well, […]

Sock-cess!!

After scouring the internet for the PERFECT sock pattern, adding a TON of them to my Ravelry queue, and attempting 90% of them, I have finally experienced the success and JOY that comes with making a pair of socks! That’s right — I crocheted my socks, using this pattern. I’ve just ordered more sock yarn, […]

Everything old is new again!

So, I decided to peruse an old Crochet World magazine that’s been collecting dust in my pattern stash. I haven’t read the pattern yet, but it’s from October 1987. I really like the girl’s Vest on the front cover. It looks to be made side-to-side, with a ribbing waistband added afterward. Now, as a member of […]

I got a peaceful, easy feelin’…

For the past few weeks, it’s felt like everything I touch, relating to yarn, was turning to carp! I went to Hobby Lobby the other day, bound and determined to make something for myself! I think I was hit with severe sticker shock! I can’t remember the last time I had gone ‘general’ yarn shopping. 6 […]

Chick –a — go!

I’ve been working on this pattern (Ravelry link) for a few days now, and it’s going well. I haven’t had any huge froggings to deal with, which is always nice. This is the largest item I’ve ever made! I’ve finished the first three sections — right front, back, and left front. Now I’m working all three […]

Captain, I seem to see signs of life here!

Been hitting Star Trek reruns pretty hard lately, but, alas I’m here. AND, I have hook in hand! I’ve been crocheting quite a bit lately. I made a pair of slippers for myself, and the three kiddies, some scarves for friends (as a means to eat up some stash, too!), and a few pair of fingerless […]
