Heb. 4:12

But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.

A summary of my Reading

Throughout my freshman year, (2007–2008), I’ve had to read nine books for school. I’ve enjoyed everyone of them, and I’d like to give you a brief summary of what it is I read.

White Fang by Jack London– The story of a wolf pup who has to struggle for survival as he’s tossed from tragedy to tragedy.

Call of the Wild by Jack London– A very stirring book about a dog named Buck who is being called by the wild to join his wolf relatives.

Animal Farm by George Orwell– What would happen if animals tried to govern themselves? Find out in this incredible tale that also describes the government.

The Pearl by John Steinbeck– For a struggling farmer, finding a pearl means the world. It can give him money to pay for his son to go to school. But, like every other form of money, the pearl arouses greed in the farmer and shows us that money doesn’t solve all our problems.

The Cay by Theodore Taylor– Does it matter what color a person is? Phillip has to find this out after an accident leaves him blind and in the same boat (literally) as a black man named Timothy. Experience the hardships faced by these two survivors as they struggle to stay alive and be rescued.

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger– Holden is a flunk-out that decides that he needs to leave.  He leaves his school with what money he has and goes out in the world. This funny adventure is definitely one that you’ll want to read again and again.

And then There were None by Agatha Christie– This is definitely the best book I’ve read this year.  Ten people with nothing in common find themselves stranded on an island. What’s worse, one by one, they’re killed until none are left. This book is also known as Ten Little Indians.

The Time Machine by H.G. Wells– What’s the future going to be like? In this book, a time traveler finds out. The future is wild in this book. The best Sci-Fi adventure around, this classic is certainly one that you’ll enjoy.

Lost Horizon by James Hilton– Four survivors of a plane crash find themselves in the middle of the wonderful place of Shangri-La. Find out who these four adapt to their new surroundings.
