Making a STATE-ment!

I’ve been following a thread on C-ville about someone who makes graph ghans. She’s done Disney Princesses, Dora the Explorer, and, most recently, Tinkerbell!
Can you say, drool??

So, I have become enthralled at the idea of doing the same.
I used to cross-stitch and still have a ton of patterns… so I just needed to figure out how to crochet using a graph.
So, I printed out a small pattern — the state of Louisiana.
Well, I started it twice before I got a feel for it, and voila!

So, it’s not fancy, and the shape of the state is a wee bit off, but I’m very happy with the result!

I now sit here and ponder conquering a bigger pattern! My girls would really, really love a Disney Princesses one. Of course, I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew, so I may have to work up to that. Maybe a pillow. I’ve never crocheted a pillow before! :-)
